1. There was only one character, the seltzer man, and his values were hard work, family and tradition. He says so in his dialogue.
2. I agree with the seltzer man's values, because he lives his own way. Regardless of money and free time, he lives according to his beliefs.
3. There wasn't anything about the seltzer man's wife, whom he mentioned once in the documentary.
4. The whole documentary was very nostalgic, retro, and very calm. By leaving out all other characters except for the seltzer man, it creates a very solemn feel.
5. The overall message is to do what you believe in, and live to your values. It is also that tradition shouldn't go unappreciated, and sometimes older is better.
